Christian high school Sorghvliet
The extension of the Christian Gymnasium Sorghvliet designed by our office is an isolated cube, placed in front of the existing building. The cube fits in with the surrounding villas in the park like area. The volume has an incision; the line follows the existing school and emphasizes the entrance. A number of educational functions are situated in the cube: new classrooms, the library and information centres. The isolated cube is connected to the existing building by a transparent staircase. The skin of the cube is a beautiful green brick, which matches the colours of the grounds of “The Catshuis” on the other side of the Johan de Wittlaan.
